Proprietor

The proprietor Lorraine Wood initially gained her experience working in business in managerial sales positions and craved to develop her creativity and skills in conjunction with the desire to help others.

After many years of hard work, planning and help from the family Lorraine developed 'Belle du jour' Bridal boutique situated in Staines. Lorraine benefited from a history of fine dressmakers and a flair for design, coupled with the drive to succeed. The company now has over a decade of experience assisting Brides with all their essential requirements for their special day. The company strives to continually improve all aspects of the business ensuring the name  Belle du Jour lives up to the meaning of the word    "Beauty of the Day".

Quality

Gowns we hold are chosen for their style, elegance and quality. Whilst they are in fact very competitively priced, each of our gowns are especially selected and must comply with a high standard of workmanship.

Other Services

Many other services are offered including the hiring and sale of gowns.

Shoe dying service on satin or silk shoes, made to measure pageboys and Groom waistcoats and cravats. Evening gowns for sale and hire, christening and Holy Communion gowns and accessories. A large selection of tiaras, veils and jewellery which you can have custom made. Mothers, attendants and Bridesmaids gowns.

Made to measure

In addition we offer a made to measure service where you can choose from hundreds of fabrics, to make your gown unique. We welcome your own designs where we will initially sketch the idea for you to give you a visual guide. Your gowns will always be made from a template pattern along with a sample swatch of your chosen fabric. Therefore your excitement grows as the gown develops, until finally your unique dress unfolds. It would be preferable to start your design process three months in advance.

Sizing

The sizes available are sizes 6 - 32. Please use our made to measure service for additional sizes.

Alterations

Gown ordered will be to the nearest sizing available to your own size, unless you are using the made to measure service. We have an in house alterations service where your gown will be tailored to you. This is an essential part of any preparation for the Bride enabling the dress to fit as snug and as comfortable as possible. Please note this service is charged for separately.
